[::..Follow-Up..::]

As a follow up to the article bellow, at class, Shaykh Abdul Kareem answered a question posted by one of the students.

Q: If one were to avoid the company of the heedless (though Muslims), would that be considered as Pride ('ujb)?

Shaykh Abdul Kareem answered: It is not pride but it is arrogance (kibr). Arrogance is when an individual sees himself as above any of Allah's beings. But it depends on the intention to avoid the company of the heedless Muslims. If the intention is because one thinks one is all that, then one is Arrogant. But if one want to avoid because one is afraid off weakness into falling into heedlessness, afraid of one's self state, or is afraid of the activities of the company, then it is ok.

Another wonderful lesson tonight.
