[::..Politics Vs Religion..::]
Ok, how many assignments do I have now. I have 2 sets of questions to answer, 1 essay on the companion, and another 1000 word essay on Hadith. best kan. All due in 2 weeks. I tak payah kerja lah niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii...................
Luckily today at work, I have already outlined my essay for Hadith. My 2 sets of questions almost habis. But my essay on companions, belum start lagi! Dunno which companion I want to write about. That day, my friend passed me a set of DVDs on Companions of the prophet s.a.w. When I saw the name of the person giving the lecture, I thought he sounded so familiar. Then I switched it on, and watch. First 5 minutes were quite interesting. Talking about Abu Bakr r.a during the early days. Then....10 minutes into the lecture, I began noticing some familiar hate campaign on some politicians. I am so peeved. I really disapprove of Shaykhs, or Habibs, or Imams who mix Islamic Lectures with hate campaign against politicians. I really hate it. I realllllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy hate it. I wish they would stop. I wish they would preach about love rather than hatred. About giving charity, alms, helping the poor, or how to better ourselves, or how to help the Ummah, or how to Da'awah people into Islam. But to talk bad about other politicians, to call them names, to instill hatret in us to them.I HATE IT. All I wanted was to listen about Abu Bakr r.a, and I heard someone else's name mentioned a million times more. What the hell, I switched it off, and chuck it into the corner. Later that day, I returned it to my friend. So I googled this Lecturer's name (fortunately he wasn't from my school). And true enough, I have heard his name on the news, seen his name in the papers. He was everywhere once. He is one of the people who were denied entry into UK now. Good, coz some the Muslim ummah in UK needs a preacher to preach about love, about good behaviour, about piety.
If you go to Hyde Park, you will see Muslim Brothers doing "Da'awah". But when I saw them, I was so ashamed to be among them. They were arguing for the sake of arguing. Debating for the sake of debating. Why, can't you talk nicely? Must you get angry at everything the non Muslims say? How do you intend to pull people into the religion by debating? I really don't understand. I admit, I don't blame the people of other religions trying to wind them up. They were asking for it. Please. My teacher said: "Da'awah is not true Debating. It is true example."
My friend said, I will learn a lot from the DVD if I listen beyond all that. And I said, that lecturer pissed me off so much, I don't think he is reliable. I'm sure I can get my educational sources from others.
Sorry, but I just hate people who mix religion and politics. It is 2 different sides of a coin altogether.
